The history of ZR2 Forensics began in 2009, driven by the need to address complex computer forensics matters before the Court of Justice of the State of Paraná, Brazil.

In 2012, after earning the recognition of more than 150 judges served, the company established its first office with in-person services in Curitiba, expanding its capacity to handle both judicial and extrajudicial matters.
In 2014, as demand increased throughout the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, ZR2 Forensics advanced its corporate consolidation process by establishing its first formal administrative and corporate structure. This development focused on case management, operational organization, and the standardization of technical workflows.
By 2017, with its own headquarters, nationwide operations, and strategic partnerships in the United States, ZR2 Forensics underwent its first major corporate restructuring. The purpose of this development was to consolidate the licenses, authorizations, and operational requirements necessary to handle highly complex matters, including criminal cases.
In 2019, expansion became a natural step in the company’s development, resulting in the opening of its first branch office in São Paulo, one of Brazil’s leading legal, business, and financial centers.
In 2021, despite the challenges imposed by the global pandemic, ZR2 Forensics maintained an active and well-structured operation. Supported by its solid corporate organization, technological capabilities, and operational model, the company navigated this period with a limited reduction of approximately 30% in demand and resumed its growth the following year.
In 2022, ZR2 Forensics intensified its international operations through engagements in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and the United States. In response to this growing international demand, the company began its global operational expansion by establishing a unit in Miami, Florida. Miami was strategically selected to strengthen support for international operations, expand access to advanced technologies, and consolidate background check services related to the FBI and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or RCMP.
By 2023, with international operations and new units in the Federal District, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Rio de Janeiro, ZR2 Forensics had consolidated its position as the largest private forensic laboratory in Latin America. This expansion increased the company’s capacity to provide expert services, forensic consulting, and evidence production and validation. Today, ZR2 Forensics has a presence in Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Spain, serving clients in more than 20 international jurisdictions. The company acts as both a party-appointed technical expert and a court-appointed expert across more than 40 forensic disciplines.
